Edelweiss was used as love spells and then given as tokens of love. The head note of this scent calls to mind the soft, velvety whiteness of the Edelweiss itself. The base note is inspired by its velvety soft blossom leaves, which lend themselves to a warm, powdery, and yet mysterious scent. Carline Thistle shines brightly and glisteningly along vast and barren Alpine meadows. Its silver inner surface turns towards the sky, shimmering in the sunlight. The head note is composed of fresh green elements, calling to mind the aromatic, herbal verdure of Alpine meadows. The heart note is resonant with gentler, creamier undertones, conveying images of a peaceful afternoon, relishing in the comfort and coziness of an Alpine hut. Aare – green, deep river – cool, fresh and invigorating.
I wanted to capture the yearning dreams lurking behind the
shores of the Aare: the cool spectrum of the green water,
the freshness of the passing waves, the depth of the river…

A unique, verdant and gently aquatic fragrance, evocative of the crisp freshness of the Aare River. A wonderful souvenir of Bern as well as an ideal gift for those yearning for their hometown.
The sparkling crispness of this Eau de Parfum arises through the lightness of its head note, composed of green tea and white blossoms. The fresh, ozonic note framing this scent strives to capture the cool, gentle flow of the Aare, the river of Bern. In addition, Brigitte Witschi, the perfumer, has also used the remarkable ingredient Hedione.
Hedione, is derived from the name of the Greek goddess, Hedone representing pleasure, enjoyment and delight. The fresh floral scent of Hedione, together with the freshness of the other ingredients in "aarewasser" results in a bright, sparkling and radiant fragrance. Research has indicated that Hedione activates a pheromone receptor in our subconscious, which gives rise to heightened feelings of motivation and of pleasure. For this reason, Hedione has been billed the scent of success.
The secret that sets "aarewasser" apart does not only lie in its composition and production, nor does it lie in its local craftsmanship. It is the fresh glow of the wearer shining from within.

There are presently 3 bears living in Berne’s Bear Park. One bear in particular has won the hearts of many. His name is Finn. Born in Finland in 2006 and living in Berne since 2008 Finn’s love of swimming has made him quite the heart throb!
Brigitte Witschi has strived to capture the strength and individuality of this majestic bear in her Eau de Parfum “finn”. Woody and leathery notes illustrate the tough, animalic facet of this scent whereas mystical hints of musk and amber notes unveil its soft, seductive side.
Myrtle, pine and vetiver lend whiffs of forest freshness to this fragrance, thereby displaying Finn the bear’s surroundings. Aquatic notes, in the form of seaweed pay tribute to Finn’s fondness for lolling and swimming in cool, fresh waters. Liquorice highlights the dark, sensitive notes of this sensual fragrance.

The third fragrance from the "BERN COLLECTION" is dedicated to the roses of the Bern rose garden.

The rose garden, located high above the city of Bern, offers a unique view of the old town and of the Aare loop. In summer, over 250 types of roses bloom there, enchanting visitors from all over the world with their flowers and scents. The rose scent has, for centuries, been famous for its healing, caring and harmonizing properties.
The rose garden is also well-known locally as a romantic meeting place and it is the only place in the city which offers such a sublime experience of the sunset from a seat on the garden wall on a mild summer evening.
The rose perfume from the Bern perfume studio captures this romantic, sensual and gentle world of scents.
The fragrance of the “rose garden” first transports you to a walk through the fresh and the floral world of the park. There in your mind’s eye, you evoke a green freshness inspired by the coolness of the water lily pond and combined with dew drops from dark-green rose petals.
Then the rose releases the full power of its scent, as its blossom blitz opens to reveal its unique, floral scent.
Seamlessly, the fragrance is rounded off and deepened by its sensual musk, which combines gently and warmly with its floral demeanor:

Jungfrau

A sensual and refined fragrance, revealing its bold yet soft depths.
On the one hand Marianne and I were concerned with the mountain "Jungfrau" and on the other hand with the term which is linked to it. The state of virginity or Jungfrau, has been holding a profound place in many cultures, for centuries. It is associated with purity and unspoiled nature, mirroring the magnificence of the Jungfrau in the Bernese Alps.
Poring over various images, photographs and paintings of alpine landscapes and young virginal women through the ages, our intuition and olfactory impressions were greatly enhanced: soft, delicate, crystal clear, caressing, powdery, alluring, gentle, white as snow. We wished to unify these impressions in our perfume creation.

Gold Edition
Tart and smoky, this dark, intense fragrance bears the secrets of this mountain.
The double meaning of the term, Mönch the mountain in the Bernese Alps and Mönch meaning monk, was of great inspiration to us.
We realized right from the start that this fragrance had to possess archaic and inspiring elements. It was destined to be profound, dark and intensely deep, possessing the aspects of dark stone yet be warm and sumptuous. The centuries-old mysteries and power of faith should lie therein.
We wished to capture and portray the power, majesty and prominence of this mountain.

Edouard
"Everything around us is imprinted with memories and moments of love."
This composition is a tribute to my father. I was very young when I lost him. As an architect he awakened in me an interest in design and the finer things in life.
Edouard is a warm and fresh men's scent that symbolizes strength and clarity.
The fruity citrus accord opens the top note. Then the pepper blends with the darker wood note and the green accent of vetiver. The softness and warmth of amber and tonka bean envelop and accompany the wearer throughout the day, soft, smooth and yet fresh.

Everglow
"My sweetheart, my star.
Your scent wafts gently over my dreams."
Soft, gentle, delicate, discreet; an embracing, powdery fragrance.
Softness, gentleness and warmth envelop the wearer of this delicate and discreet fragrance.
This fragrance is an homage to my aunt who always carried a handbag containing a small pouch which concealed a myriad of lipsticks and tiny perfume bottles. As a child, I would very often run my little fingers through this pouch, selecting and then trying out these scented treasures; soft, flowery and powdery. This scent conveyed feelings of comfort and warmth. I have yearned to recreate this particular scent for a very long time.
With everglowI have finally succeeded in capturing this memorable scent.
The name of this scent has been inspired by the song "everglow" by Coldplay:
"But when I’m cold,cold
There’s a light that you give me when I’m in shadow
There’s a feeling you give me, an everglow..."

A scent telling of feelings of freedom, of wind rushing through one’s hair.
This scent was inspired by some verses from the French singer and songwriter "Coeur de pirate-La bande à Renaud":

This scent was created to accompany the movie "Perfume: The Story of a Murderer" when it was shown at the open-air cinema in Bern, serving to inspire the olfactory senses of the spectators. The landscape of the Provence, the gloominess of the city of Grasse, the exquisite beauty of the female characters and the personality of Grenouille have left their mark on this dark and mysterious scent.
